The only oil that really benefits a dog’s skin (or your own, for that matter) is oil with omega-3 fatty acids, from fish body or liver oil. Any other kind of oil, including olive, just goes through the digestive tract.

The omega-3 oil goes into he body through the digestive tract and is used by every cell in the body for repair and health. However, you have to be really careful about the origin of the oil, much of what is out there is doctored with vegetable oil or is old or rancid fish oil. Only fish oils harvested and bottled in Norway have an entire government dedicated to ensuring purity and freshness.

Now that is high praise from a dog groomer! “Only your pooch’s hairdresser knows for sure…” as they used to say. Great to know that you have found that beauty is skin deep!
