Swatting a puppy with your hand or a rolled up newspaper is frowned upon as archaic by today’s “positive only” trainers. Corporal punishment is a sure way of bringing out the worst defensive instincts in a pup. It’s easy – just don’t do it. |

I know too many people who hit their dogs and think nothing of it… because the dog will forget…. what are they thinking…
I have never even raised my voice to my dog and I ignore the negative but go crazy with the positive and my dog (a doodle – dachund/poodle) is well trained, loving and obedient….. and loves us to pieces..
