For those that love a good run, taking your exercise buddy on a brisk jog will suffice. When taking you dog on a jog or biking adventure make sure to remember these key points:
– Take rest breaks because dogs get tired, too – Carry plenty of water to quench your and your dog’s thirst – On hot days jog or bike with your pup early in the morning or late evening when the sun goes down to avoid heatstroke and health complications
– NEVER take your dog jogging or biking if they have serious medical problems, without the consent of a vet PawLux.com is a leading provider of all natural and eco-friendly products for dogs. Great advice! And let’s all remember that even small doggies can be good jogging partners for sprints and short runs. We Shih Tzu need to keep fit too with gentle jogs. Jogging’s not only for the greyhounds, BOL!
I agree. Every Friday I’ll take Buddy the Boxer rollerblading, and we’ll stop every 8-10 minutes so he can rehydrate! Best to find a shady spot to do this!
These are good tips…dogs can be so eager to please that they will exhaust themselves if you don’t keep a close eye on them. So you need to remember to take breaks even if you are not tired yourself!
