The Daily Dog Tip

Not all dogs enjoy water or take to swimming, but all dogs can benefit from a pool’s cooling effects in the hottest part of summer. A shallowly-filled toddler pool with low sides set in a shady corner of the grass can be a wading pool for non-aquatic pups. Cool water on the pads alone gives a hot dog a new lease on summer. Some non-swimmers even discover they enjoy rolling in the water. Even hot, old dogs can learn new tricks.

your so right about dogs loving water, we bought a large child’s paddling pool and child’s gazebo (thanks Argos) and fill to brim with fresh water (changing it every 3rd or 4th day ) for our Labradors Roxy & Lola they love it !!! they roll and lay in it EVERY day especially sunny hot ones they take there balls and other toys in it and play , they love laying in it after a very long walk especially !! worth trying and the gazebo keeps the sun off them so added bonus for when your in garden enjoying it yourself.heres to a happy summer .

Please educate yourselves to the signs of dehydration.
Keep excess water and a bowl in your car.
Don’t take your dog with you on short trips to the store without considering a short trip can become a long time away from home if your car has an issue.

Do not leave your dog in a car running and think all is well…your engine could stall or quit.

Consider your dog and all that could go wrong.

I was shocked at the dog shows this weekend…102* and people had their dogs in cars with sun shields…
keep fans and ice with you…but the dogs should not have been in those cars!
