Blueberries, cranberries, raspberries, blackberries, and strawberries are good for your dog. They provide fiber, natural sugars, and vitamins; they contain scads of antioxidants; and are super low in calories while being small and bite-sized.
Consider substituting a blueberry or two as a treat for a good dog. A handful of berries will help a little chowhound make it till dinnertime. Everything in berries is good for your dog, and nothing is harmful. Naturally, too many berries might cause diarrhea, so find a balance and let your dog enjoy the benefits of tasty antioxidants! but NEVER GRAPES or RAISINS!!
I have two Labs and they both like berries, fruit and melon. One actually eats strawberries and blackberries right on the vine, when I am out in the garden…….
Berries, especially dried cranberries one of our favorite training treats!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you for your post on Berry, a Berry Good Treat.
I have to say that we see this question frequently. Actually, this is the number one asked question we get about our berry treats.
So many people today are health conscience about what their pets eat and there are so many conflicting information on what a dog can and can’t eat.
We LOVE to have fun with our treat and are always looking for new ways to introduce new flavors. Right now, in the Halloween Spirit we have treats organic Boo Berrry Treats (Blue Berry), Dracula’s Delights (Cranberry) and Witches Brew (pumpkin).
Sending out a big THANKS
Keith
I have a 3 year old Black Lab named Lanny. Lanny loves frozen bluberries, bananas, apples-not the tart ones, and he loves his yogurt! He likes all the flavers, I get him fat free with no fake sugars(fake sugars are bad for dogs). We will be trying other fruits in the future.
