Dogster HQ woofingly invites all of you to join the Dogster Team for the 2006 Doggone Fun Run on Saturday, October 14th in Golden Gate Park! It’s a furry fun filled (dog friendly, of course ) 5K walk or run to benefit local organizations that need our support like the SF SPCA and PAWS.
The run/walk will be followed by a doggone fun afterparty, prizes, food, contests, attractions, and demonstrations.
Dogster HQ (including Ripley and Sherpa) will be out and about sharing the love of dog! We are also raising money to meet our fundraising goal of at least $750. Because you are a Dogster member you are invited to join our team-either as a fundraiser or just a fun lover. Keep in mind that any effort you make goes a long way to ensuring these amazing organizations can continue to offer their great services to our community.
To join the team, please visit our special Dogster team webpage and sign yourself up as a member. You can also use the site to send e-mails directly to your friends and family to help us meet our team fundraising goal!
Because you’re all so special we’ll be bringing lots of stickers and buttons and as many t-shirts as we can possibly carry :)
We’ve also started a Dogster group where we can all bark about the event and wag our tails in excitement!
We hope you’ll join us! We look forward to meeting many of you in the fur!
Remember when we asked for Dogster Haikus in the July Newsletter? Well, here are some of the grrrrrriffic and creative responses that we got from you fabulous Dogsters.
There’s always room in the world for more Haiku…get your creative juices flowing and add some more!
Yipeeee! Let me say that again, Yipeeee! I am so excited to say you can now upload digital videos of your pets and they’ll automatically appear in their Dogster or Catster page! Heck, we’ll even give you the html so you can post that video anywhere you want on the web.
To start adding videos to your pet pages just go to your account page and for each pet page you will now see links to your Video Manager. (Please note we are not able to support a small number of browsers at this time, but it does work on enough PC and Mac browsers.) The last step before uploading your first video requires downloading a small piece of software one time. This software encodes the video on your computer for optimal web viewing, and will decrease regular upload time by 75%!
Once installed you will be able to add video to your page by dragging and dropping the file onto your Video Manager. Other options are to make a real-time video straight from a computer cam or send it from your video-enabled cell phone. Once added you can even cut and splice your video to show just the parts you want.
So, wanna give it a go? Paw over to your account page and go for it!
