I’m happy to report we have just made our last and final update to the URLs for our dog pages. From now on all direct links to our dogs’ pages will be http://www.dogster.com/dogs/the_dogs_id. So Sparky’s URL is http://www.dogster.com/dogs/189. For the last month it was sometimes trailed by ‘/sniff’ for reasons too arcane to get into, but those reasons are moot now and the ’sniff’ has been phased out permanently.
When people are strolling thru pet pages, the URL will be slightly different now. If you were doing a stroll of dogs and you came upon Sparky the URL would be http://www.dogster.com/dogs/189/in/stroll/. You can copy, paste and save this URL, but it’s really better to strip off the ‘/in/stroll/’ part if you ever want to share the URL anywhere else.
Sorry if this is confusing. I really just posted as a public service for those who have been wondering. These changes should have no effect on your pet pages or your enjoyment of the site, but should make it easier for people to find your pages.

Do you ever post in the forums and then wonder if anyone has responded?
There’s a link in the left navigation under the ‘Community’ heading called ‘My Forum Posts’ that shows your recent forums postings. We just upgraded that page so it now also shows how many posts have been made since yours and when the last one was made and by who.
It’s really handy as it a) reminds you of the posts you’ve made, b) let’s you know if there have been additions, and c) gives direct links to the beginning and end of that forum thread.
So check it out. Just open the Community section by clicking on it and then click ‘My Forum Posts.’ You can find this link on wahtever pge you are on.
Yipppeeee! We just added 6 new main topics to the forums!
In the Main Forums we added topics focusing on Video, Local, Diaries and In the Fur Meetups! We’ve got some many people using the sites for different reasons, we just have to support that!
Also, all Plus members will now get to enjoy 2 new Plus Topics. One is expert knowledge sharing on decorating pages, making videos, decorating photos, background patterns, embedding images in rosettes, and all the other special things those in the nose can do on the site. Plus members also now have a special forum to discussion occasions and events they are organizing.

Dogster Local is an ENTIRELY NEW area that allows anyone to add their favorite pet places, write reviews, add photos and connect with other paws in your ‘hood. The listings you can add are any place or business or service you take or use with your dog (or cat) such as dog parks, vets, pet stores, restaurants, shelters, trianers groomers, hotels, sitters, walkers, boarding, etc. etc. etc.
The flip side is that you can also search on your area, or any area and find parks, vets, hotels, sitters, walkers, cafes, anywhere you can take a dog.
Right now we’re it’s brand new, and there are only about 6,000 entries for the whole world so you may not find too many places. But be the first to add your favorites and show them off to everyone else.
The benefit of this will grow exponentially as more and more people have had time to ad items and IT’S JUST GETTING GOING!
