Product Review: Collapsible Travel Food Bags

7137b706f8599c78142890405574c4d2 Being from the west coast and growing up in rain country, I am a great believer in Ziploc bags. I put everything in Ziploc bags and when road-tripping, I often carry a good dozen or so extra because they are just so darn handy! However, after spending two weeks road-tripping around the mountains of Colorado with two Boxers, I now realize that Ziploc bags are not the end all, be all when it comes to storing dog food!

Before heading out again on any type of trip with my boyfriend’s two Boxers, I made a promise to myself to invest in collapsible food bags for the dogs. Between the two of dogs, they figured out how to open the Ziploc bags, then the bags got punctured, and finally the human error factor and the Zippies not closing securely allowing kibble to escape, we had ever problem you can think of keeping their food in edible condition! Talk about a mess!

These great collapsible bags hold twelve quarts of food, get smaller as they empty, close securely, and are more or less dog proof! I see them as Ziploc bags on steroids and I may be buying them for more then just the dog food for our next trip…human food can be stored in them just as easily as well as clothes, bedding, first aid kits…you get the picture!

Those look great! I’ve had those zip-lock baggies filled with dog food spill all over my suitcase on more than one occasion, and I can’t say that I enjoy having dog food stuck to all my clothes.
