You are all so right to recognize the health benefits of pets… especially for children. I can double that effect with a tender loving touch from mom, dad, grandma, grandpa or any other relative or sitter….. for there is a fantastic book that LINKS a child to a really neat pet. So after the outside excercise is over….. snuggle up with this great book about MAX – a dog who was adopted from a shelter…. and spent the rest of his life teaching valueable life lessons . It is well illustrated, with both words and pictures… and will be a family book that is sure to become a favorite. This might just kick start a dog-child friendship! Beautiful…….

Dog’s are not only good for physical therepy (such as exercise) but they are wonderful for mental therapy (such as depression). Their companionship and unselfish love is the best a person could ask for. They provide the kind of comfort that someone suffering from depression can’t get elsewhere. Their needs began to become most important to their person which requires the exercise, but the exercise and companionship from their pet will eventually raise them out of their depression where they can see the light and start helping themselves.
