This study is very disturbing and I hope people will read this and wake up and become aware that their cats need regular check ups. Part of the reason is cats hide their pain and illness and another reason may be that it's difficult to get cats into their carriers for vet visits. That's still no excuse for neglecting their health. I have two cats and they see their vet routinely twice a year for health exams, blood work and dentals if needed and that's in addition to any illnesses that require extra vet visits. Experience with cats has taught me it is much better to catch diseases early and start treatment then rather than wait for a crisis.

I HAVE 9 CATS AND AM ADOPTING 2 MORE TO MAKE IT 11. THEY ALL GO TO THE VETS AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR EVEN IF THEIR SHOTS ARE OK. THAT'S HOW YOU CAN SPOT TROUBLE WHILE IT'S SMALL AND NOT TOO EXPENSIVE. I'VE FOUND THAT JUST LIKE IN PEOPLE IF YOU CATCH SOMETHING EARLY IT'S EASIER TO TREAT AND LESS PAINFUL ON THE WALLET.
